Expectations
We are asked to develop many talents from early on in our life. Study well, learn to paint, learn to do well in your extra curricular activities and so on. The negative aspect of this encouragement is the hidden message behind the praise and pressure. It is very subtle, yet it leaves a deep impression in the minds of the young. This is expectation!
You begin to expect praise, expect affirmation of our actions, and will slowly but surely get addicted to it!
No one teaches us NOT to expect, or what are the consequences of expectations. As we mature, we learn from sources like Bhagavad Gita that expectations are the root cause for unhappiness. How can one suddenly be able to give up or even go against what has been embedded in their minds.
To focus on the task at hand and excel in it without worrying if you win or lose is something that we and our next generation should start to teach our kids and youngsters. This will help them learn without pressure. Parents and educational institutions, sports teams do the opposite. This must change to a healthy competition.
There is a wide gap between what you learn and how you have to live life
We all have to consciously embrace the teachings of Shri Krishna in every aspect of life and particularly incorporate that in the lives of people as they grow and mature,
We should be taught NOT to grow our expectations as we grow.
In contrast the expectations of an infant (hunger and cleaning their poop ), toddlers, older people (as long as they are healthy
) are minimal. There is nothing wrong in their expectation for some attention, love, and care.
But the hidden snake of expectation must be killed from other aspects of life in order to lead a simple, happy and fulfilling life.
I love you all
Stay blessed
Be happy

True that. Most of us seek validation in the smallest of matters. Which is not a good in the long run. As Expectation leads to Disappointment, in most cases. Hope realization dawns.
